The Game — Content

The play is fun – and a bit racy.  We talk about sex some in the play as it is part of a major plot point.  There is no nudity, but there is a revealing costume. The play is not about sex, but it is about couples navigating their relationships with their partners. The play is not intended for children.

The women go on a “sex strike” to get their partners to stop playing the “game.” When that doesn’t work, they try lots of sex. We don’t ever see any of it onstage, but we do see one of the lead characters in a revealing lingerie body stocking, and she opens her shirt to reveal her bra at another point. And the women get gifted sexy lingerie that includes a dildo for one of them. They talk about blowjobs and jizz at one point, and the word masturbation is used. There is some mild cursing in a few places. Sex is not the subject of the play at all, but it is a tool that is used to get what the women want – they want their partners to stop playing The Game and spend time in real life. The main theme is around the importance of human contact over virtual contact and the importance of friends in our lives.
